I carve stone as a hobby in the Seaside town of Heysham, ((Morecambe), in Lancashire, U.K.

I always carve in the traditional way by hand using a dummy mallet and chisel.

I don't usually plan or draw out a design prior to carving, I use the method of direct carving.

Last March 2010 I took up oil painting which I am enjoying experimenting with.
